Rudy Krymsky. Russian World - The Plague of the 21th century

The ideology of the “Russian World” (as a type of fascism) brings tyranny and violence, murders and war crimes, pain and suffering of millions of people to world civilization. Russia has always used repression against rebellious Ukrainians, Tatars, Georgians and other peoples of different nationalities. One of the main goals of the ideologists of the “Russian World” is to make the Russian language dominant in the culture and life of people in all post-Soviet territories. According to the concept of the “Russian World”, all national elements in people’s lives should be reduced to a minimum (native language, folk traditions, religion and other symbols of national identity). This means that people of various nationalities in the post-Soviet space must undergo total “Russification”, cease to exist as an ethnic group, or be physically destroyed. This art work by Rudy Krymsky reflects a tragedy that affects the fate of the artist himself, since the previous generations of his family were Crimean Tatars who were subjected to genocide and deportation from Crimea during the Soviet period of Russia.

​Ukraine has made its historical choice and wants to be part of Western civilization, part of the democratic world. Ukraine clearly conveyed the desire of its people, who do not want to submit to Putin’s dictatorial regime. One of the reasons why Russian troops commit mass murder of civilians is that Ukrainians reject the ideology of the “Russian World”. This war showed that Russia’s actions towards Ukrainians are qualified by the international community as genocide. Russia has committed such inhumane actions throughout its history, when it seized the territories of other nations and established the “Russian World” there.

There is another reason why “Russian World” fans want war, death and destruction in neighbouring countries. This is envy. This vile and disgusting feeling fills their small souls, making their hearts ruthless. Many Russians think this way: “if we cannot make life in our country better, then we may well make life in neighbouring countries terrible”. That is why the Russians will always destroy everything in their path, killing people, turning cities and countries into ruins.
