ABOUT THE PROJECT
The art project “FUTURE” organizes On-Line and Off-Line events in support of Ukraine, including art actions, exhibitions, performances, digital art, computer installations and other events. The project team calls to stop the war in Ukraine, stop political repression in Russia, stop promoting violence and hatred towards Ukrainians and other peoples.
The project team and partners distribute anti-war leaflets and posters in various regions of Russia. We also paint graffiti whenever we get the chance. The art project “FUTURE” definitely makes the life of the dictatorial regime and its services uncomfortable, causing them to have a hysterical reaction. They express extreme irritation when they see anti-war graffiti, posters and leaflets on the doors of their offices, car windows, in cafes and restaurants and other places that are familiar and convenient to them.
Anti-war art is a powerful blow to the propaganda of Putin's dictatorial regime. That is why in Russia artists, musicians, writers and other creative people who are able to talk about the war through their works are arrested and repressed. Putin and his propaganda department are terribly afraid that anti-war art will help people learn the truth about the war crimes of the dictatorial regime.
Usually, most of graffiti, posters and leaflets on the streets of Russian cities are destroyed by Putin fanatics. However, some of the drawings continued to remain in place for many days. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people may see these drawings and anti-war messages. None of them destroy the drawings. We are sure that many people in Russia do not support the war. The project team and partners plan to expand the art actions to many regions of Russia, as the project helps connect more and more people to the anti-war movement.
PROJECT TEAM MANIFESTO
Currently, thousands of people in Russia are being persecuted and repressed for their political views and statements. To be more precise, any citizen who does not agree with the politics of dictator Putin can be condemned. Punishment for citizens can reach up to 25 years in prison. But even after an official verdict, citizens can be subjected to torture and execution in prison.
Anti-war art actions are persecuted by Putin's dictatorial regime. Despite this, we cannot stop our activities today. Otherwise, the Future will be meaningless for us. We cannot accept the fact that the gang of thieves and murderers who are now in the Russian government want to make us their slaves. Putin and his propagandists want to make all citizens vile, immoral, cruel and soulless, just like themselves. They want to turn our children into bandits, thieves and murderers, just like themselves. We will resist this. This is one of the important reasons to continue the “FUTURE” project".
The moral reference point for project members is the anti-fascist resistance group “WHITE ROSE”, which was active in Germany in 1942-1943. The texts of their leaflets, calling to resist Hitler’s totalitarian regime and expose his crimes, are relevant in Russia today.
